Change Of Watch

Change of Watch

The long-awaited Change of Watch event is fast approaching. If the past holiday season kept you too pre-occupied to respond with your reservation request before, now is the time to get it done. The annual Change of Watch is the premiere event of our squadron calendar year. In an effort to encourage maximum participation in this event, Commander Vinnie Praino sharpened his pencil and came up with a tasty deal.
The 2017 Change of Watch will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Yesterday’s Restaurant on Route 35 (North) in Hazlet, New Jersey. It will be a Sunday afternoon event from 1300 to 1700. We will be in their large ballroom with plenty of room. This choice of venue will allow us to keep costs down to only $55.00 per person. This is the same reasonable cost per person as last year without sacrificing anything. The Commander and Executive Committee wish that all our members will be able to participate.
The event will feature sit-down “family style” dinner, meaning that you can actually sample multiple entrees if you desire. For the main course, the waitresses will bring a large portion of each of the meals (family style). If there is not enough of the one you want, they will prepare more for you. Also, special dietary accommodations will be made, as needed.

National Annual Meeting

The 2017 USPS Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida, is fast approaching. The meeting is being held between February 19 through 26 at the Rosen Center Hotel & Conference Center. There is no requirement that attendees be present for the entire conference, but the week offers a broad variety of events, including side excursions to Disney World, Kennedy Space Center, and other area attractions. This is a great way to be exposed to every aspect of USPS operations from education to member benefits and everything in between. Members who haven’t attended a national meeting are invited to become first timers! Before the meeting, first timers receive information packets to familiarize them with what to expect. Then at the meeting, first timers have a welcome table near general registration where they can ask questions and receive in-formation regarding a special meet and greet with Chief Commander Louie Ojeda and members of the national Bridge. First timers attending this reception are eligible to win a door prize! They will also receive a discount on one item from our USPS Ship’s Store! When you register to attend the Annual Meeting, please check the box indicating that this is your first time attending a national meeting. We look forward to meeting you in sunny Florida for a great winter getaway with USPS boating friends!
Time is running short. If you are interested in the event or wish to learn more about the total experience, please visit the USPS national web site at: You will be asked to sign in using your certificate num-ber (this can be found in our squadron directory) and your password.
